May the cross and the empty tomb be a reminder that this earth is not our destination; heaven is. Christ was aware and intentional about His mission here on earth and at the end of it, He was able to confidently say, "It is finished".
Hello friend, Christ is risen and Happy Easter!
As the years go by, Easter becomes so much more meaningful to me. I am realizing just how much the Christian faith is hinged on the death, burial and the resurrection of Christ. And with that thought I'd like to leave you with a short thought provoking post this week.
This morning our Pastor delivered a great message; but the one thing I took from it was a question he asked at the very end. While I won’t try to repeat it here verbatim, it was something along these lines: if Easter 2022 was your last one here on earth, is your work on earth finished?
And friend, I would like you to think about that for just a minute. If you knew you had one day/month/year to live, what would you do? And at the end of it, would you say confidently, that it is finished.
In John 19:28-30, Jesus knew it was His end. He had accomplished everything He came on earth to do; and was able to confidently say that His work was finished.
Recently, I had a health scare that made me realize just how quickly life can change. The truth is, this life is not our destination. We're all just passing through. So friend, on this Easter, I just would like to remind and encourage you that this earth is not the destination. Heaven is! May the cross and the empty tomb be that reminder. Christ was aware and intentional about His mission here on earth and at the end of it, He was able to confidently say, "It is finished".
It is my hope and desire that each and every one of you can say the same at the end.
Have a blessed week.
