When you don’t seem to know where you’re going, trust His hand to lead the way
Hi friend and welcome back to another week. I trust you've had a great week, but if not, please know that I'm praying for you. Also, thank you for coming back to read this week's post. It's a short one; so I hope you stay, read it, and leave a comment to encourage another reader below. Thanks again.
The first full week of 2022 has already come with its own challenges. Between Omicron variant and Flu season, natural disasters, wars and political unrest in some areas of the world, people are struggling right now.
What if I told you that God isn’t surprised by any of the things happening right now?
The verse from Psalm 121:3 (also the text for todays post) is one that has been on my mind. David wrote this: “He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.” [ESV]
As children of God, we know that nothing happens to us by surprise. The Psalmist in Psalm 121 started off the chapter by boldly declaring where his strength came from. His eyes were lifted up to the Lord from where His help came from.
Then we are assured that Christ will not let our feet be moved. Moved by what exactly?
Well, less than 5 minutes of listening to the news these days will definitely move you. What's true is that most of the time we are moved, but not in ways that lead us in the right direction.
I’ve heard from several people that have been moved from events in the first 8 days of 2022 so far. Some have been moved to fear, isolation, depression, discouragement etc. While others have been moved to faith, trust, love, seeking revival etc.
Last weeks devotional post was a plea to get your heart in the right posture, this week’s post is an encouragement to look up. To life your eyes above all that is already happening and urge you to look to the hills for the Lord.
One thing I am learning as I grow in my faith is that God’s hand is in everything that is going on. He hasn’t left us or forsaken us. In these trying times, all we have to do when we don’t seem to know the way to go is trust His Hand to lead the way.
Conclusion
Perhaps you’re frightful, or already touched by the new variant; or wondering what the year holds… Friend, all you need to do is look up to Lord and trust His hand to guide and lead you. He doesn’t sleep and is ever present to be with us.
Challenge for this week
Meditate on Psalm 121
Stay Blessed;
You are loved;
