I Have A Dream

Hello friend and welcome back to the blog.
I want to start by asking a simple but important question: what is your dream?
Perhaps since the year just started, the answer to this question is in the fore front of your mind and you have different dreams for different areas of your life. Or maybe, you’re simply unsure.
Whatever your response to the above question is, I’d like to share a dream with you.
Micah 6:8 states: “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” [ESV]
My emphasis is on the second part of the verse: what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Notice the three main characteristics mentioned - Justice, kindness and humility.
No matter which part of the world you call home currently, you’ll agree with me that all 3 of these characteristics are needed and quite lacking.
I currently live in the US, and we just celebrated MLK day inspired by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In fact, the title of today’s post is coined from one of his famous speeches where he shared his dream. He wanted a society where all felt equal.
Inspired from the scriptures and by Dr. King’s dream, I’d like to share a dream - that we practice justice, we love kindness and walk humbly before God.
Easier said than done is a quote I’ve heard a lot recently. But what if we truly took the Word seriously and practiced what it preached to us.
What if each and every one of us Christians were completely just? What if kindness radiated from every fiber of our beings? And what if we walked in humility in all circumstances?
I believe there’s no telling what the Lord will use our generation to do with that kind of obedience.
Dear Father,
Today’s encouragement was short, but I pray that the words are meaningful. I pray that you will stir our heart and minds to dream; to dream godly and righteous dreams. I pray that we would live out our dreams in daily obedience that will point others to you. Lord, please heal the world. Let hatred cease and please bring your love and light to nations. Help us all be dreamers and bearers of your light and peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
