"Write the vision, make it plain..."

Hello friend, welcome back to the blog. It's hard to believe we're already in a new year. Last year sometimes felt like a roller coaster for me (I'm sure some of you could tell from the blog posts) lol. But perhaps your life was the same.
Perhaps you had some difficulties as well as some triumphs. Truth is, both are part of life.
About halfway through last year, I sought professional help (counseling/therapy). I felt like it was time that I let someone else help me navigate a lot of the baggage I'd been carrying and couldn't seem to just let go.
The journey led me through some dark moments, as well as some lighter days as well. While I'm still in counseling, I can happily say that God has been doing a lot of transformation and restoration. And with that in mind...
Here are 10 things I'm walking into the new year with. I hope and pray they inspire change in you as well.
God is good, I'm not. This is true inspite of my desire to please God. Because of sin, you and I will always fall short.
I am weak, but God is strong. Nothing like a hard day or a struggling patient to remind you that no matter how strong you think you are, as humans we are all weak; but He is our strength.
My past doesn't define my future. Perhaps your life up to this point is full of scars from all painful moments, and you don't think the future will be any different. Let me remind you that the past is the past. The present and future can be different but only if you choose this.
Pain is a part of life, the sooner you learn to deal with it the better. Unfortunately most of us grew up thinking if we have pain in our life, something must be wrong with us. This is simply untrue. Pain is necessary and sometimes makes us stronger.
The right people will come into your life -give it time. Perhaps you're waiting on God for a spouse or just some good friends, the key is waiting on God and while you wait, allow Him to work on you and make you into the right person for the other person.
God speaks daily, you just have to lean in daily to hear His gentle words. God doesn't only speak to the minister. He speaks even to us humble servants. When you prayerful read His Word and ask Him to speak to you, you will hear from Him.
Be patient- Anything valuable will take time. We live in a fast paced world. Most things can now be shipped overnight (as long as you're willing to pay the money). Unfortunately, some of us go through life this way, thinking things need to always happen fast. God's timing is different from ours; so be patient.
Life is too short to keep things buried- speak the truth about how you really feel. Going through life peace-faking won't do you or your friends any favors. If you truly love people, you will tell them the truth (nicely of course).
God's beauty is everywhere. When I'm tempted to feel overwhelmed or discouraged, I'm reminded to look up- at His handiwork and admire His beauty. So friend, if you're feeling down today; look up and see the wonder of God.
My best days are still ahead of me. All of these lessons are just scratching the surface for both you and I. God has so much more He has in store for us if only we stay faithful.
I hope and pray that you have a wonderful year and that 2023 is your best one yet.
“And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:2-3 ESV
Stay Blessed,
