"Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass." Psalm 37:5

How can I take the first step? What if it doesn’t work out? What if I fail? Those were my thoughts for several years. To be honest, I sometimes still find myself asking those questions or just pondering something similar when I'm faced with challenges.

You see, I’ve always thought risk takers are not great thinkers. Because, I never understood how a risk taker can take into consideration all the negative outcomes and still move forward with their risky decision.

However, the problem with my thinking was that it was missing a few key ingredients - faith and trust in God!

A simple verse I would like to share with you for this week's post is from Proverbs 3:5 and 6 which states "trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

I was afraid of pursuing a science degree initially, because I saw it as a risk since a close friend of mine in high school didn't think I had what it took to be successful in that field. It took some time before I finally realized that if I trusted God, He would indeed direct my path. Today, I have a degree in biochemistry and still moving forward in science and healthcare.

You see what I've learned is nothing extraordinary. Trust is an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something [Webster]. It is as simply as having faith in God.

Trusting that God has my back and that if he created me, He must have a purpose for my life. Trusting that the dreams and goals that He has given me will be accomplished.

Conclusion

Today's post was just a simple reminder to trust God. What are you holding on to? Is it fear? Worry? Doubt? Lack of confidence? Bitterness? Hurt? The list goes on…

However, if you trust God enough to let go of all the things that are holding you back, I promise you one thing, He will direct your path! Let me quickly add this: I didn't say anything about things being easy; because the truth is, they're probably not going to be. Life is full of ups and downs, but if you trust God, He'll remain an ever true friend and will lead and direct your path (I Peter 5:17).

Prayer Guide

This week ask God to build your faith in an area you have been struggling to trust Him with.

Stay Blessed
